​​Workplace health and safety policy​ 

bd infrastructure is committed to comply with the WHS regulatory requirements and to ensure the well-being of our employees, subcontractors or people affected by our work, is a priority during all work performed on our behalf. We aim to provide and maintain compliance with AS/NZS ISO 45001:2018. 

People are our most important asset and work health and safety is everyone’s responsibility. 
The safety of the public is given equal priority to that of our workers. 

The Directors of bd infrastructure are committed to: 

  • providing safe and healthy working conditions for the prevention of work-related injury and ill health which are appropriate to the specific nature of the WHS risks to which workers and others are exposed; 

  • providing a framework for setting the WHS objectives; 

  • fulfil legal, statutory, non-statutory and self-regulatory requirements as deemed appropriate;  

  • eliminate hazards and reduce WHS risks; 

  • continual improvement of the WHS management system; 

  • consultation with and participation of employees and if applicable subcontractors. 

The objectives of our WHS management system are to, as far as reasonably practicable: 

  • achieve a safe and incident free workplace; 

  • consider WHS in project planning and work activities; 

  • involve employees and subcontractors in the decision-making process through regular communication and consultation; 

  • ensure employees and subcontractors identify and control risks in the workplace; 

  • monitor and review the elimination or control of potential risks; 

  • enhance employees’ WHS knowledge through a program of education and training. 

The success of our WHS management performance depends on: 

  • the commitment of all persons to achieving the WHS policy & management system objectives; 

  • planning work activities, with due consideration given to WHS; 

  • undertaking the risk management process in an effective manner; 

  • regular communication and consultation between our workers and subcontractors.
